A nomadic artistic and culinary bonanza is slated for Thursday’s After Dark party at the Exploratorium. On the agenda is a gypsy camp of food carts and a tip of the hat to the tribal love scene that spontaneously materializes every year in Black Rock Desert, including a comfort food performance in a steel-cut diner called Dust City Diner that made the desert rounds at previous Burning Man happenings.

The night is not just a unusual feast but a celebration of errant creatures of all types….Dr. Karen Kalumuck will showcase the accidental residents that are living in our own backyard, Maria Mortati will be on site with the Mobile Museum and visitors will get to marvel at the Succulent Circus and Wonderarium – a giant floating terrarium planned for Oakland’s Lake Merritt.
