Punk legacy is now the work of the archivists. On Thursday, July 29th the San Francisco Public Library will showcase films and performances from San Francisco’s notorious artist-run venues such as CLUB FOOT, Target Video, Tool & Die, Survival Research Labs and Club Generic.

Cycling an area from when new wave punk first hit North Beach in 1976 to the 80’s hardcore scene of The Vats and other punx rocks….the evening will feature Bruce Geduldig’s black-and-white 8mm short, Childhood Prostitute, starring JoJo Planteen (Inflatable Boy Clams) and Winston Tong (Tuxedomoon). Other films include vintage footage of artist Karen Finley and Christian Marclay’s Bachelors Even. Plus, special guest actor/musician Richard Edson, one of the original CLUB FOOT founders, will be on hand.

Oddities and relics will be unearthed and unbound. You won’t want to miss this rare chance to glimpse back in time!
