Anna’s Daughters Rye Bread can be found at Bi-Rite Market (3639 18th St.), Tartine Bakery (600 Guerrero St.) and the Ferry Building Marketplace on Saturdays.

Firebrand Bread is available at Bi-Rite Market (3639 18th St.), Rainbow Grocery (1745 Folsom) and select local restaurants and cafés, like Farm:Table (754 Post)

Tartine bread is available at Tartine Bakery (600 Guerrero St.) and Bar Tartine (561 Valencia)

BrickMaiden Breads are available at the Bovine Bakery in Point Rayes Station (11315 Shoreline Hwy), the South Berkeley Farmers Market on Tuesday and the San Rafael Farmers Market on Sundays.

Josey Baker Bread bread can be found at Mission Pie on Wed. and Thurs at 5pm (2901 Valencia). Gravel and Gold by subscription only (3266 21st St.) and starting May 25th at Bi-Rite Market Wed. and Thurs. at 5pm.

Arizmendi Bakery: a pizza and bread-slinging co-op located in the Sunset. Open Tues-Fri 7-7, Sat, Sun 7:30-6 (1331 9th Ave)

Morells Bread: baked at the Headlands Center for the Arts in the Marin where the wild winds of the Pacific blow across the hills surrounding the bakery, and the energy saturates the beautiful loaves. Thurs. 3-7 and Sat. 10-3. (Berkeley Farmers’ Market)

Wild Flour Bakery: nestled into a lush garden in the town of Freestone, North of San Francisco, produces a cornucopia of baked goods from light and fluffy pastries to bread oozing with cheese and herbs. Fri-Mon 8:30-6:30 (140 Bohemian Highway, Freestone)

Della Fattoria: grows most of their ingredients and bakes on their farm in Petaluma, where reservation farm dinners are an additional thrill. They also have a delightful café in downtown Petaluma by the same name, offering soups, sandwiches, coffees, pastries and bread, of course. (1159 Skillman Lane, Petaluma)

Outerlands: delivers wonderfully hearty bread reminiscent of mid-day, apple orchard meals of yore, goes into most of the items on the menu. (Outerlands’ co-owner David Muller learned to bake from Chad at Tartine) Open for lunch and dinner Tues-Sat and brunch on Sun. (4001 Judah)

Sour Flour Bread Education: strives to bring bread into the SF community through bread-making workshops, Bagel Monday (free bagels!) and fresh loaves delivered by bike to your doorstep.(2937 24th St.)
