On Friday, December 17th, San Francisco Art & Film for Teenagers will be showing a free screening of the beloved Ingmar Bergman classic Fanny and Alexander at the Randall Museum.

Originally conceived as a 5-part TV movie, Fanny and Alexander was cut down to a sweeping 188 min. epic chronicling the life of the Ekdahls, in particular the young brother and sister Fanny and Alexander and their trials to escape the imprisoned new life they find after their mother’s marriage to a local bishop, soon after the sudden death of their father.

And if the beautiful Christmas celebrations depicted in the film appeal to your sensibilities and leave you craving for a Swedish retreat…then look no further than the Swedenborgian Church. This Pacific Heights outpost will be hosting a special Holiday Music & Meditation Night on Thursday, December 16th, beginning at 7pm.
