At the De Young and the California Academy of Sciences, museum after-hours with drink+music help to bring the party to the park…. so isn’t it high time the Conservatory of Flowers joined the ensemble of late night revelers?

On Wednesday, September 22nd, the great Victorian glasshouse opens its dazzling cast iron gates for a carnival of carnivorous plants and a special appearance by the folks at Wonderarium (a mobile plant unit which aims to build a large floating glass terrarium to Oakland’s Lake Merritt).

Brews and an old-time photo booth add to the mix as the conservatory celebrates its rerun exhibit Chomp 2 – the Return of the Carnivorous Plants. Humid temperatures and pitchers of heliamphora promise an evening of abundant foliage and decadence – just don’t fall into their pitfall traps!
